Handmade Flowers

One of my most recent creations was made with my grandchildren in mind.  They are such a joy to have around.

I started out with a 12 x 12 canvas and cut up several different sheets of card from Donna Salazar's Grandma's Garden and Trunk in the Attic.  Some were square and some rectangular.  Some larger and some smaller.  This is how I started, I cut out my pieces and blended Brushed Corduroy DI around all the edges.

I used gel medium and put them all down onto my canvas. When dry I went around each edge with the Brushed Corduroy DM.  I did not get any pictures, but all my sides are covered too.  I then put gel medium over the whole thing in a matte finish.

The 3 big flowers are handmade with my Tim Holtz bigz Tattered Flowers Die.  They were made with some patterned paper from my stash and colored with ripe persimmon DI to give them a little more color.

The leaves are from Memory Box called Lavish Branch.  The doily is inked with Brushed Corduroy DI and there are some little screw head brads for the centers of the flowers.

That's it.  I'm submitting this to Frilly and Funkie's  Blooming Marvelous challenge for Feb. 2014.

Cigar Box

My BFF Dee gave me a cigar box to alter for her.  I asked her for ideas has to what her vision of said box was, but alas, she could not help me.  So I am all alone with a cigar box to alter.  Working on ideas.  More to follow as some inspiration hits me.

Brown, Purple and Blue

I love these colors together.  The pretty picture of a duck from La Blanche was stamped with walnut stain distress ink, then colored with seedless preserves, faded jeans and peeled paint and water.
I inked the background with seedless preserves, faded jeans and walnut stain distress ink on a piece of card stock approx. 5 x 4 inches.
I had originally started with a tag, but it was a bit too small.
I then used a couple of Lifestyle Crafts dies to make my frame.  I embossed the frame with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and inked it up with walnut stain distress ink.
Thanks for looking, hope to see you again soon.
